Other Considerations for Athletes

When considering breast implants, it is essential to consider your lifestyle to determine the most appropriate size, type, and placement of your implants breast implants.

Athletic patients are best suited for the placement of subpectoral implants. This means that the implants are placed behind the pectoral muscle. This can help your breasts look and feel more natural when the pectoral muscle contracts. Placing the implants behind the muscle also provides more natural support than placing the implant above the muscle (sub-glandular).

Choosing an implant size that will fit your lifestyle is also essential. For example, runners may find that increasing breast size too much will cause discomfort when running, even with a supportive bra, and can cause back pain.
